Old Barn Tregonetha is a multi-award winning sustainable holiday cottage based in the heart of Cornwall. They are always on the outlook for new ways to promote their holiday let, and we have worked with them on two different projects.


In the first project Stephen and the Old Barn team wanted to produce a series of promotional videos to show off the property and the local area.


More recently, with the imminent reopening of Cornwall’s tourism industry as lockdown measures were easing, Stephen got in touch with us to commission a ‘tour’ of the barn to show new guests all the features and conveniences, as in-person tours were no longer available.


For our first project we worked with them to produce a set of digital first videos based around three key USPs followed by a longer video for their website and wider marketing. By targeting the videos to specific interests and characteristics of the property, we were able to keep them short but relevant, maximising their potential when posted on social media. And by formatting the shorter videos in to a square ratio, we made sure that they stood out amongst the crowd.


As part of this shoot we also worked closely with local stakeholders to undertake drone filming, with the barn being in close proximity to Newquay Airport.


For our more recent project around being Covid-ready, we needed this to be turned around quickly. So we used our existing footage from the first shoot and complimented it with more specific content for this new video. We worked with Stephen to iron out a script and then added the voice over and soundtrack. From engagement to delivery it took less than 5 days to deliver this project, with it being released just in time for the first day of lockdown easing.

We wanted a walk through short film intro on our property covering our Covid19 measures. All done in just 5 days and we were very pleased with the creative professional value for money result.

The results of these digital first videos was unparalleled levels of social media engagement. Click throughs were up to 10x higher than for their regular social media posts, and in the first few weeks alone their videos reached over 10,000 interested eyes. The Covid-ready video received wide press coverage and has gone down extremely well on social. It is also now the go-to resource for new guest looking to find out more about the property. All these videos helped to prove the value in creating social media ready content that sits alongside more traditional longer form video, enabling Old Barn to maximise their investment across multiple marketing channels.
