We were approached by the team at Rio Nuevo Chocolate to do something a little different. They were looking to showcase the lifestyle element of their chocolate products, as part of a wider ambition to promote a better world that is at the core of their business.
The team at Rio Nuevo were clear that they wanted these lifestyle videos to work across different social channels, to have stories that reflect the great outdoors and creativity and to leave the viewer feeling intrigued about the brand.
The first project was born during the middle of lockdown, so we used virtual pre-production meetings to discuss stories for the videos, shooting locations and branding. We then put all this together in a series of proposed storyboards and began sourcing talent to appear in the video and organising the shoots.
With a return to work then possible towards the end of May we quickly established our Covid-ready procedures and booked in our shoots. To take advantage of a glorious weather window our shoot plan saw all four videos shot in just one day, capturing sunrise at the beach before moving onto our artist shoot and hiker/camper shoots later in the evening. We worked closely with the team at Stithians Showground for our Camper and Hiker stories as part of this and ensured that on all the shoots we took all the steps necessary to keep crew, clients and cast safe.
Once in the edit it was a case of putting all this together with emotive, moving music, adding in sound design and topping and tailing with text and graphics. As always, we ensured Rio Nuevo were provided with social ready 1:1 versions and traditional 16:9 versions to that they could maximise engagement across social media.
